Ocado Bramley Cooking Apples.Bramleys are large, flat apples and are usually green in appearance, although sometimes they feature red speckles. They are intensely tart, much more so than most eating apples, and have a sharp, acidic flavour that can be quite puckering. Underneath the tartness, there is a subtle, classic apple flavour. Compared to other apples, Bramleys have a relatively low sugar content, which contributes to their tartness. The flesh is firm and dense, which helps them to hold their shape during cooking, but despite their firmness, Bramleys are also quite juicy.
